Since June 17th, 2013, the blogger known simply as “Chuck” has been asking everyone, from celebrities to scientists and even people on the street, what their best life advice is. He keeps a running list on his blog  and updates almost every day. Some of our favorites include:

“If you are looking to get into a creative career: Do exactly what you want to do and give it away for free. Over and over again. Do not wait for someone to give you permission to create what you want to create. Greenlight yourself and get to work.” — Day 232: Charlie Todd, Founder of Improv Everywhere, Teacher and Performer at the UCB Theatre

“Brewing like many professions is enormously humbling. Try to stay humble and remember that you are brewing for others, not yourself.” — Day 280: Brett Porter, Head Brewmaster at Goose Island Beer Company

“I think if you’re lucky you get one thing in life that you want. If you’re very lucky you get two. So be very careful in choosing what it is you really want.” — Day 76: Harry Shearer, 69, Actor (Bassist from Spinal Tap!), Author, Director, Satirist, Musician, Radio Host, Comedian, Voice Artist (Ned Flanders/Principal Skinner from The Simpsons, etc)
