Our Mission & History

As Thomas Edison said, "Genius is 1% inspiration, and 99% perspiration." The goal of the 99U Conference is to shift the focus from idea generation to idea execution—providing road-tested insights on how to make your ideas happen. We don't want to give you more ideas, we want to empower you to make good on the ones you've got.

Our Mission

Behance empowers creative professionals to make ideas happen. With this goal in mind, we launched the 99U Conference in 2009 to share best practices that help creatives move beyond idea generation into idea execution. The 99U has since evolved into a full-fledged think tank, which now includes a daily web magazine at 99u.com, a workshop series, advisory services, and the bestselling book Making Ideas Happen.
